If you know me, you know I have a serious chair addiction. Somehow, we have too many chairs in our home, and I can’t seem to part with any of them. Over the past week I had the pleasure to test drive the HÅG Capisco at home, a true 80s icon. I must admit, I didn’t know the chair until recently, but once I did, I started seeing it everywhere. I fell in love when I learned more about the brand and most of all, the idea behind the design.

The HÅG Capisco is the brain child of Peter Opsvik, who is also known for designing the famous Tripp Trapp chair, a must have among young families. The saddle chair saw the light in 1984, and was inspired by a horseback rider’s posture, which I feel you can’t unsee once you know it. Its pioneering saddle seat and unique shape, offers endless ways to sit or lean. This encourages you to vary your position while you are working. You can even sit on the chair backwards and sideways! And boy, it’s sooo comfy! Perfect if you spend long hours at work and can’t or won’t sit still.
To celebrate the innovative design icon, HÅG launched a competition that gives you the opportunity to win your own chair in your own bespoke fabric design! If you click here you can upload your own artwork, print or photo to the chair. Follow instructions on the website to upload it to the gallery and then post to your instagram feed tagging #mycapisco and @flokk_design, (make sure you are also following Flokk). Don’t forget to vote for your favourite on the website!
