i guys! Today I’ve teamed up with Swarovski to share my favorite hosting tips with you to make your guests feel extra welcome when entertaining in your home. There are a few tricks I’ve picked up over the years that I’ve found make people relax and feel at ease from the moment they walk trough the door. It’s always hit and miss when you’re working with tricky timings and juggling the cooking, decorating and entertaining, but let’s call this an ultimate checklist for setting your get together up for success!

As I’ve been getting more and more into photography I absolutely loved styling and shooting Swarovski’s playful seasonal home collection. The crystal trinkets capture the light so beautifully and are nothing short from mesmerizing. I absolutely love the result and I hope you do too! And at the end of the post there is a giveaway involved, so stay tuned!

i guys! Are you getting into the holiday spirit yet? I’ve been working on a few Christmas related assignments, so I’ve been feeling very Christmassy since the beginning of december, even though I didn’t get the chance to put up my tree yet until this weekend! I also haven’t had the time to go Christmas shopping, but that’s less of a problem since I don’t really like crowds and as an avid online shopper I find it so much more efficient to click together what I want/need and have it delivered.

i guys! I’ve been a bit awol lately, but for a good reason. I did the creative direction and styling for the Welcome Days of Antwerp based PR agency OONA. I’ve already shared a peek on instagram & facebook but will post more on the blog later. For now I’m taking you back to Bournemouth, where I made a short stop when I went on a factory visit with Farrow & Ball earlier this fall. After breakfast I went exploring in the picturesque beach town and bumped into a rainbow of beach huts. It was truly enchanting in the misty september weather and I hope my pictures do the moment justice. Hope you’re having a lovely week!

DIY Easy Reupholstered Chairs

By 0 0

DIY Easy reupholstered chairs Once upon a time I bought a set of thrifted chairs. I really liked the shape but disliked the color, but thought that I could do something about that one day. As always, I considered just painting the surface, but a few clawing cat paws later painting the faux leather was no longer an option.

Finding the right fabric was a bigger challenge than expected, but when I was over at Dille & Kamille for my bedroom restyling, I discovered the perfect shade of pink, in a table cloth! As their table cloths are made from thick cotton, I quickly realized this would definitely work. Just over €20 well spent to give my vintage chairs a modern look.

ou guys, big news! Last thursday I was in London to attend the Amara Interior Blog awards, and I am so very proud and honored to say I won in my category “Best European Interiors Blog”. I was nominated alongside My Scandinavian Home, Gucki, Minoop and fellow Belgian Greet from Belgian Pearls who I’ve gotten to know because of the awards (Thanks Amara!). I think I can’t quite believe it still, because October has been a bit of a whirlwind for me and somehow this all happened in a big haze.

Home Renovation: Bedroom Reveal + 5 tips to make your bedroom fall ready

H

i guys, it’s been super busy over here, so I’m happy I have the chance to drop in for a lengthier post on the home renovation front, one that’s alllll about our bedroom in collaboration with Dille & Kamille!

If you follow me on instagram you’ve maybe seen that I’ve spent 3 days in Amsterdam with W hotels (more on that later). Later this month I’ll be going to London, France and maybe even Milan. I’ve been working on and planning some really lovely projects so definitely exciting times over here.

Back to the bedroom! I’ve teamed up with Dille & Kamille for a complete restyling of our tiny but cozy bedroom. As you maybe remember from this post, I initially wanted to create an all white space, but i quickly got a bit bored and wanted more colour so I decided to change things up. The new plan was to create more harmony with the pink closet, because you see the room from our bedroom. The first step was building my own bed (DIY to come) this mini makeover of my vanity, and then I reupholstered a set of vintage chairs with a dusty pink fabric that matches the closet walls perfectly (also coming up). You may remember the “headboard” as this DIY project I did two years ago. Dille & Kamille provided me with the finishing touches and voila, here we are! A more grown up bedroom that no longer has just a mattress  on the floor, and is completely fall ready!

Young Creatives: Melanie Van Dooren

I

‘ve been wanting to introduce you to my friend Melanie for a while now. She’s one of the most radiant and positive people I know, and I find her a true inspiration so I really wanted to share her story with you. Plus she lives in this huge appartment in Antwerp with the sweetest nursery!
Melanie and I met when she moved into my student house her first year of college and we hit it off right away. She also studied communications so we had a lot of the same classes, and even ended up studying abroad in Barcelona together, where we also shared a flat. She’s actually the person I’ve lived with the longest apart from my boyfriend and parents. I could show you some hilarious photo’s from our student years studying for our most hated course (ICT) in our PJs and greasy hair with the help of a bucket of M&Ms (but I won’t!).
Since we became actual proper adults, Melanie has worked in TV production, moved to Brazil for a year with her lovely boyfriend Hendrik and had the cutest baby named Maurice. She also hit a rough patch last year and decided to take her life into her own hands and change things up. Melanie already started learning jewelry design in Brazil, but now she’s back in Belgium, and recently launched a brand under her own name: Melanie Van Dooren. I couldn’t be prouder of her living life on her own terms, so let me show you why I love this girl!
