Team Belgium

Happy Saturday guys, hope you’re all doing well! When Juttu reached out to me to highlight their #ikkoopbelgisch pop up shop I didn’t have to think twice. My love for Belgian design runs deep, from the brands I used to sell at my own shop to the work of some of my most talented friends.

I think “support your local scene” is something we should all do more often, and even more so because starting as an entrepreneur in Belgium is definitely no joke, but that’s a whole different blogpost! So today I want to introduce you to two brands from Juttu‘s #ikkoopbelgisch pop up shop.

Johny Be Good

I discovered Johny Be Good when my friend Nathalie was looking all beautiful in their shirts in this post. Johny Be Good is a Ghent based label that consists of a line of tattooed white shirts (illustrated by Axelle Zwartjes). Their first collection revolves around lovesickness, resulting in beautiful embroidered slogans like “shake me don’t break me” and “love me tender”. What a beautiful concept, clean and fresh, striking in its simplicity. And who doesn’t need a clean white shirt with a twist, perfect for every occasion?

You can find the one I’m wearing here.

Design for Pussies

Another brand I want to talk about is Design for Pussies. Those of you who have furry friends in your home, commiserate with me: Aren’t pet toys/houses/collars usually the ugliest? That’s why I immediately loved the items Design for Pussies has to offer. Cute cat houses that fit your home, nice toys, and most of all the cutest collars with cheeky messages like “I’m not lazy, I rest before I get tired” and “I peed on the hamster”. But the one that suited George best is, without a doubt, “Cattitude”. Juttu-ikb-1
