Hi guys, it’s been super busy over here, so I’m happy I have the chance to drop in for a lengthier post on the home renovation front, one that’s alllll about our bedroom in collaboration with Dille & Kamille!
If you follow me on instagram you’ve maybe seen that I’ve spent 3 days in Amsterdam with W hotels (more on that later). Later this month I’ll be going to London, France and maybe even Milan. I’ve been working on and planning some really lovely projects so definitely exciting times over here.
Back to the bedroom! I’ve teamed up with Dille & Kamille for a complete restyling of our tiny but cozy bedroom. As you maybe remember from this post, I initially wanted to create an all white space, but i quickly got a bit bored and wanted more colour so I decided to change things up. The new plan was to create more harmony with the pink closet, because you see the room from our bedroom. The first step was building my own bed (DIY to come) this mini makeover of my vanity, and then I reupholstered a set of vintage chairs with a dusty pink fabric that matches the closet walls perfectly (also coming up). You may remember the “headboard” as this DIY project I did two years ago. Dille & Kamille provided me with the finishing touches and voila, here we are! A more grown up bedroom that no longer has just a mattress on the floor, and is completely fall ready!
5 tips to make your bedroom ready for fall
- Make your bedroom a Sanctuary
Your bedroom should have as little unnessecary stuff as possible to allow you to fully relax. Try to avoid having your desk or other stressors in the bedroom, and only allow items that give you good vibes.
- Scented candles
A classic and still one of my favorite ways to make a space cozy are scented candles. A great candle for that ultimate fall feeling? This Orange & Ginger candle, a perfect warm scent for cold evenings. In the mornings I like this Fresh Cotton candle, a lovely scent to awaken your senses. Also great for a good night’s rest: this lavender pillow spray, perfect to help you sleep.
- New textiles
Nothing beats that new sheet feeling! Spoil yourself with a new set of sheets this fall, and combine textures and colours. I combined my new sheets and pillows with my grandmother’s coverlet, something that always makes me feel at home.
I love waking up on weekend days with a cup of coffee and a magazine. This little table is the best accessory for these lovely lazy mornings, and when you don’t need it you can use it as a regular trey.
- Add plants
Plants are one of the best ways to add life to any room. For the bedroom I chose a few small plants for the nightstand and a haning plant for a bit of a bohemian vibe. When I buy a bouquet, I cut off a few smaller flowers to put in a vase next to my bed. Don’t feel like taking care of your plants? These vases of recycled glass combined with dried flowers are a beautiful permanent addition to your room.
