Don’t tell me you “can’t” make a gin cocktail sweet. In fact, at the time this all happened I’d already shot this recipe. A (wait a minute, what?) sweet gin cocktail, with a side of apple. I think it’s tasty, even if gin is not “supposed” to be mixed in sweet drinks ;).
This recipe was (very) loosely based on the Outsider from Schiller’s artisanal updates, hence the name. I feel it would actually be best in fall.
5 ml sugar syrup
30ml apple cider
60ml dry gin
juice of 1 lime
ice
apple slice for garnish
1 apple slice cut into pieces
__
Muddle the pieces of apple in a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, lime juice, syrup and cider and shake well for 15 to 20 seconds. Pour into a glass, add a straw and garnish with an apple slice. Done! Have a happy friday!
