My Favorite Home Renovations By Bloggers

By 9 0

Great news, we’ve received the key to our new casa, which means the planning can begin! Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have seen the picture above of our future office. We’ve already started ripping out carpet and arranging for some work to be done. For some reason, the universe made sure that my own home renovation coincided with the decorating adventures of some of my favorite bloggers, which works out well for me, inspiration wise. So I thought, what inspires me, might inspire you! Here’s a small list of current favorites!

1. Smitten Studio

Smitten studio home renovation

This blog is the kind of website that I read from the first post to the last when I discovered it. Sarah Sherman Samuel’s virtual home is an amazing source of inspiration when it comes to fashion and decor. I absolutely love it!

Sarah has recently bought a home and is doing some renovations like extending her bedroom, breaking out walls to open up the kitchen and putting in hardwood floors. You can find all posts on the renovation here. She keeps her readers updated via the blog with useful before and after shots and inspiration. Earlier, she also renovated a beautiful cabin, all posts on this topic are here.

My favourite posts on the subject include this one on the painted floors in her studio and this one on the progress in the kitchen (The marble. The floor colour. That table. Those chairs. And that’s the sink we’re planning to get in our kitchen as well.)

2. A Beautiful Mess

As you know,  A Beautiful Mess is an amazing website for anyone who loves a little DIY. From concrete countertops to a simple colour injection for your front door, A Beautiful Mess is the best place for some inspiration to upcycle your interior.

The ABM team is currently renovating its new studio! Read all about it here. Founding sisters Emma and Elsie have recently also renovated their pad, all posts on this here.

PS: Last month, my home was featured on this amazing site. What an honor!

3. Cupcakes and Cashmere

Emily never fails to inspire me. I find her consistency and perfectionism so alluring, she really is like a modern day Martha Stewart. Emily and her husband just moved into their new home, and they started renovating it. I’m anxiously waiting for her updates on the house, but she already shared peeks into her new home on her blog and on Instagram.

On thursday, she is posting the “after” of her kitchen. Read all about the before here!
