I’ve been having a weird couple of days and London weather has been a drag, so I didn’t get a chance to snap any nice pictures. I did, however come across these pictures from Lisbon last year, which gave me a melancholic feeling.
Around this time in 2010, I took on a little more than I could handle (I tend to do that). I won’t bore you with the details, but the number one priority was finishing my thesis on film and fashion in the fifties, and even though I loved my subject to bits, I had an extremely tough time. By april, I could feel the pressure becoming to much. I felt all the pieces of my tightly scheduled future falling apart. So I decided to escape. To Lisbon. My parents had booked a holiday there, and I impulsively decided to come along. Not to have a vacation, but to soak up some much needed sunny vitamins and work on that piece of writing that was dominating my life. People thought this wouldn’t work out, but I honestly think Lisbon saved my thesis. It had to, otherwise I could never go back. And let’s face it, that’s not an option.
Anyway, to leave this sentimental short story behind, today I realized that I took some nice pictures in Lisbon during my study breaks. Time to share them with the world.
